College is a more adult environment than school, where students benefit from becoming more independent, taking more responsibility for their own progress and getting ready for work. However for some students – and their parents – the transition can be daunting.
We aim to work with parents to give students the support they need to succeed at College and progress on to a great job or further study.
Every 16-18 year old student is on a Study Programme which includes not only their chosen course but also English and maths support, work experience, employability skills training and help with CV writing and preparing for job or University interviews. 16-18 year old students also have a Progress Coach who works with their lecturers and other support staff to make sure that learners attend College regularly and have access to all the help they need.
