Case Studies

Since I have started on the course my maths has improved a lot. On some of my tests I have even scored 100%. My teacher has been very helpful and he does everything he can to help us understand and learn in class. I am very grateful to him for all the help.

I’ve always wanted to come to college but I never had the time as I was helping my family. Now that I’m older I finally have the time to do want I want. In the future I want to work as a social worker and help people but my English and maths aren’t very good so I needed to study these subjects first.

I chose to study at Lewisham College because I heard it had a good reputation and the teachers were very good. Despite this I was a little bit scared to start the maths course because it was a long time ago that I studied maths.

My teacher has told me that I can move onto the Level 1 course next year. I like maths a lot now because I enjoy solving problems and working out patterns. My confidence has improved a lot.

I want to keep improving my English and Maths. I want to keep learning so I can get my GCSEs. Once I get these qualifications I can then become a social worker.
