Tuition fees UK Nationals
Tuition is free on the majority of courses for all UK or EU students who are aged 16-18 on 31 August 2020. Although the College also offers many courses for adults that are either free or partially funded, fees may be payable if you are 19 or over on 31 August 2021. This fee will be confirmed during your enrolment appointment. Any fees due must be paid when you come to enrol so please bring payment with you when you come to your appointment.
The College accepts most debit or credit cards, cash or cheques. If you are applying for an Advanced Learning Loan you should do this via the website at https://www.gov.uk/advanced-learner-loan/how-to-apply.
Tuition fees Non-UK Nationals
The tuition fees payable depend on your status in the UK. Bring your passport and all relevant Home Office documentation to enrolment, so we can advise you of the correct fees.
Exam fees
The majority of 16-18-year-old students will not pay entry or registration fees. Examination and registration fees are payable if you are aged 19 or over on 31 August 2021, unless you are eligible for fee remission or when re-sitting subjects, or individual units, at the same level.
Course equipment and materials
Depending on the course you are studying there may be additional charges for course books, materials or equipment. Information about these costs will be given to you when you enrol. Equipment and materials can normally be purchased through the College and are the property of the student.
Most students find this the best way to support their studies, for example the items can be taken home, and text books can be annotated or personal equipment kits can be taken forward into the workplace or onto a further course. However, our Student Support team can help you to apply for additional bursaries or funding to help pay for some of these costs, such as the National 16-19 Bursary, Vulnerable Young Person Bursary, Care to Learn Scheme and Council Bursaries.
Field trips
Some subjects and courses require (or strongly encourage) visits to locations or events of importance to your course. These may vary from an afternoon theatre trip to a week’s visit. There may also be an opportunity to travel abroad. We try hard to keep costs as low as possible.
Uniforms
Some of our courses have a dress code or uniform. You will be advised of the costs of these before you complete your enrolment.
Financial support
If you meet eligibility criteria our Student Support team can help you to apply for additional bursaries or funding, including:
- 16+ Oyster card
This scheme offers free travel on TFL bus routes if you are 16- 18 years old and live in a London borough, or half-price if you don’t live in a London borough - Free college meals
You could be eligible for free meals at College if you are under 18 and your parent or carer receives benefits such as Universal Credit - Care to Learn scheme
Successful applicants of this scheme receive up to £175 a week towards childcare costs while you study if you are under 20 and a parent - Totum Card
The National Union of Students (NUS) Totum Card costs £12 per year (in 2020) and gives you access to discounts for eating out, shopping, music, travel and more - National 16-19 bursary
Successful applicants of this bursary receive funds for course related expenditure if you have a household income of £28000 or below - Vulnerable Young Person bursary
If you are a young person in care, care leaver, young person, receiving income support, you could apply for funds to support your studies - Council bursaries
Some London boroughs offer student bursaries to their young residents who are in education and training.
