Construction and Engineering

This course is designed to provide learners with the necessary skills knowledge and understanding to progress their careers in the construction sector. As a vocationally and technically based course it is structured to enable learners to demonstrate their competency and achievement of skills that can be applied to real-world scenarios. All the units are tailored to cater to a diverse range of learners and to upskill the workforce to meet sustainability challenges and the drive towards NetZero.

    Entry Requirements

    Having any formal qualifications is optional to take this course. You can undertake these units even if you have no prior training or experience in this field. However knowing construction techniques can be beneficial. Centres need to ensure that the candidates have the potential and opportunity to gain the qualification successfully.

    Assessment Method

    Candidates must complete a 35-question multi-choice assessment.

    Aims of the course

    This unit aims to provide learners with the skills and knowledge to understand the basic principles of domestic retrofit.

    Progression Opportunities

    Upon completion of the NOCN C Skills Level 2 Award in Understanding Domestic Retrofit learners will have developed a fundamental awareness of the retrofit industry. This award serves as an excellent foundation for learners who wish to pursue a career in retrofit. From here learners can progress into various professional roles such as installers assessors advisors coordinators evaluators and designers further advancing their skill sets and knowledge.

Coronavirus update

Lewisham College is closely monitoring all communications and guidance as it becomes available.
