Assessment Method
If you're aiming for a career in bricklaying this course will help you progress towards your goal. Through a combination of practical tasks and theoretical study you will learn how to set out masonry structures construct masonry cladding build cavity walling forming masonry structures and form solid walling incorporating isolated and attached piers. Specific units you will study include Health Safety and Welfare in Construction and Associated Industries; Understanding Information Quantities and Communication with others; and Understanding Construction Technology.
Aims of the course
Classroom lessons and workshop sessions plus a minimum of one week's work experience.
Progression Opportunities
The course is 20% theory (classroom based) and 80% practical (workshop based).
Facilities
This study programme will give you the opportunity to progress into further education apprenticeships or employment in brickwork.
