Are you interested in pursuing a career in performing arts? The UAL Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology has been designed to provide students with the skills knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to further study and training in a range of media-related subjects including games design website design film TV radio sound engineering and others. This course provides a wide-ranging opportunity to apply and expand your skills in creative media. Throughout the course you will benefit from workshops with media professionals. You will also be taken on trips at least once a term. The course also aims to enable you to be more employable by helping you to develop skills in communicating working collaboratively negotiating and influencing self-presentation and management adaptability and resilience self-monitoring and development. Learning will be through practical activities and project. Whether you already know the specific creative career path you wish to follow or want to progress on to further study and Higher Education this course will help you to achieve your dream.

    Entry Requirements

    4 GCSE qualifications at grades A*-D or 9-3 including English Language. You will have a review of your portfolio and ideally show some moderate success in the subject area. If you are accepted onto this course without a Grade 4 (that's the old Grade C) or above in Maths and/or English you will be given the opportunity to develop your skills in these subjects. This will be a compulsory part of your timetable. You will also need basic IT skills.

    Assessment Method

    You will be assessed by a combination of assignments course work observation of practical workshops and a final project.

    Aims of the course

    The UAL Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology (Level 2) is designed as an introduction to develop your knowledge technical skills and understanding for a rewarding career in a number of creative media roles. The course helps you to develop more than just your creativity and expression and artistic skills you will also gain a deeper understanding of the theories and principles of creative media production. It provides an opportunity for those who have an interest in media to explore develop and test their creativity within a qualification structure which is stimulating and demanding and provides a supportive transition from general to more specialised study. This course will provide you with a sound base of skills and knowledge to enhance your self-confidence and an understanding of the career demands and opportunities creative media production. Learning will be through practical activities and project. You will be encouraged to explore experiment and to experience a wide range of methods to develop creativity and professional approach to learning. You will be expected to work independently on college projects outside of class time. You will go on some visits normally within college time. allow you to explore develop and test your creativity and gain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of performing arts as a collaborative activity.

    Progression Opportunities

    This course can lead directly to employment including entry-level roles in the creative industries apprenticeships roles in a variety of media environments or provide a direct route to Higher Education. After successfully passing the Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology (Level 2) programme you may wish to consider our Level 3 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology.

    Facilities

    To offer you the best experience we have assembled a team of industry-trained expert tutors and professional technical staff who have lifelong industry knowledge and experience. Our courses are delivered in industry style computer labs and studios including a 90-seat theatre spacious rehearsal rooms a technical theatre workshop and lighting studio The programme is delivered through a mixture of lessons workshops and projects which happens in the classrooms studios off-site on trips to creative venues and businesses in projects with external partners.
