The Level 3 Award in Education and Training programme covers various topics related to education and training such as roles responsibilities and relationships in education and training inclusive teaching and learning approaches and assessment in education and training. It's a great way to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to progress to teaching and training roles or support work in Further Education or training providers. Upon successful completion of this course you will be awarded with: · Level 3 Award in Education and Training · Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Safeguarding and Prevent · Level 2 Certificate in Equality and Diversity

    Entry Requirements

    To be eligible for this course candidates must be at least 19 years old and hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in their area of specialism. Additionally it is preferred that candidates have a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths with grades A-C or 9-4. If this is not the case a short assessment will be conducted to ensure that the candidate meets the required levels of literacy and numeracy. It is also important for candidates to have excellent written communication skills and the ability to organise information in a clear and coherent manner.

    Aims of the course

If you have work experience or expertise that you can pass on to others then Lewisham College's Step into Teaching Programme could be a perfect fit for you. With multiple teaching opportunities available at the College in all subjects the programme offers flexibility in terms of work hours allowing you to choose between full-time or part-time work that suits your schedule. The course provides online resources and face-to-face teaching to ensure a comprehensive learning experience. Moreover upon successful completion you are guaranteed an interview with an employer. Even if you don't hold a degree or have no prior teaching experience the programme enables you to start your career in further education.

    Progression Opportunities

    Upon successful completion of the Step into Teaching Programme at Lewisham College you are guaranteed an interview with the College. The qualification gained from the programme allows candidates to progress into employment and various career opportunities such as teachers trainers and support workers as well as further teaching qualifications such as the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training and Assessor and Quality Assurance awards.

    Facilities

    The programme consists of face-to-face lessons and workshops as well as access to online materials and workbooks. Learners will have access to computers and other resources in the Learning Centre and through Teams.

    Career Options

    Upon sucessful completion of the programme you can progress to teaching and training roles or support work in Further Education or training providers.
