The BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Preparation for Public Services is designed for individuals who wish to build on their foundational knowledge and develop the skills necessary for a successful career in public services. This course will cover the role of public services in society focusing on areas such as leadership and teamwork in public services and citizenship diversity and the law. Learners will also be exposed to the health and fitness requirements of public service careers and receive training in emergency incident response. Support for career planning and application preparation will also be provided.

    Entry Requirements

    The entry requirements for this course are a minimum of two GCSEs at grade 3 including Maths and English

    Assessment Method

    The assessment method will include practical skills assignments teamwork and individual presentations.

    Aims of the course

    You will develop transferable skills in self-management managing others and problem-solving. Provide essential skills for those interested in careers such as the police fire service armed forces ambulance service or security.

    Progression Opportunities

    Move to a Level 3 qualification an apprenticeship or apply for entry-level public service roles.

    Facilities

    The course will be delivered as a mix of outdoor learning for adventurous and fitness activities with theory delivered in a classroom setting. 

    Career Options

    Career opportunities include community employment with the Police Fire service Armed forces Ambulance service Security and Community Police liaison office (dependant on age qualification and experience).
