Mental health concerns have become one of the biggest challenges faced by our society today. It is estimated that around 450 million people worldwide suffer from some form of mental health problem. In the UK around a quarter of British adults will experience some form of mental health problem every year. Despite the lack of understanding of many aspects of mental health it is crucial to have a good understanding of the information available to us regardless of the sector we work in. In this course we aim to provide you with an overview of mental health its impact on society and the importance of mental health awareness in all areas of life.

Aims of the course
This course aims to increase learners' understanding of symptoms and management of stress anxiety and phobias further personal and professional development and provide a clear understanding of mental health legislation.
Progression Opportunities
Upon completion of this course learners will have the opportunity to progress onto further qualifications such as: - Level 2 and 3 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care - Level 2 Award in Awareness of Dementia - Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care.
