    This course is suitable for a range of levels. College staff will support you at the enrolment stage to confirm your eligibility for the course.

    The assessment method for this course is via online assessments workbooks and classroom activity.

    Aims of the course

    The objectives of this qualification are to enable the learner to gain an understanding of the principles of healthy eating and the role of food in maintaining health; planning and achieving a healthy diet; howdietary requirements of an individual change throughout their life; food labelling and the ability to use information from food labels; eating disorders; the role of a healthy diet for weight management; the principles of food safety in a home environment.

    Progression Opportunities

    Upon successful completion of this course learners can progress on to Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Retail Operations Level 2 Diploma in Retail Skills or NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Excellence in Customer Service for Hospitality.

    Facilities

    The course will be delivered through blended learning including online assessments and face-to-face workshops.
