Staff and learners from both Lewisham College and Southwark Colleges recently welcomed representatives from City & Guilds, the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), and Colleges of Excellence (CoE) of Saudi Arabia.

The visit, hosted at Southwark College, aimed to develop knowledge sharing and cooperation between the organisations, with a particular focus on investigating effective further education and training practices. The day provided an excellent opportunity for the colleges to showcase their commitment to delivering quality education and exchange insights on educational methodologies.

During the gathering, the colleges presented their innovative tools and modern facilities, emphasising the diverse opportunities available for learners to excel in their future careers. The delegation from Saudi Arabia expressed keen interest in the colleges' approach, and the exchange of experiences left both sides inspired and motivated.

Staff and learners helped the visiting delegation to further understand the impact of the T Level and apprenticeships, whilst also sharing the successful industry partnerships the colleges have fostered to set learners up for future success in their chosen fields.

Jamie Stevenson, Principal at Lewisham College, said: "It was a privilege to welcome representatives from TVTC, CoE, and City & Guilds. Their visit offered a fantastic opportunity to highlight the unwavering dedication and commitment of our team to providing an exceptional educational experience. It was truly inspiring to see the staff and learners from Lewisham College and Southwark College come together to co-host this event, reflecting our collaborative approach to fostering educational advancement."

The delegation’s visit not only allowed the colleges to forge important connections with a leading TVET organisation but also opened avenues for potential future collaborations and partnerships in the field of education. Lewisham College and Southwark College remain committed to fostering connections with local and international organisations and providing learners with the skills and qualifications to prepare them for their future careers.
