Lewisham College hosted a Freshers' Fair to welcome learners to the new academic year with a series of events and activities across its Lewisham Way and Deptford Bridge campuses.
During the event, learners had the opportunity to interact outside the classroom and meet representatives from the employability and learner support teams who shared information about the range of services available at the College, including careers, learning resources, additional learning support and care leaver support, amongst others.
Asfa Sohail, Principal at Lewisham College, said: "We are delighted to have hosted the Freshers' Fair events to welcome our new and returning learners who missed out on campus and in-person experiences last year.
"We hope all learners enjoyed the events and were able to find out about the range of services available to help them make the most of their learning experience during their time at Lewisham College."
Learners also met representatives from local businesses and organisations offering services and products to students in Lewisham, including Compass, Come Correct, NHS South East London Clinical Commissioning Group, Metropolitan Police, Lewisham Plus Credit Union and Samaritans.
PC Coupe, Metropolitan Police Officer, said: "Attending the Lewisham College Freshers' Fair has been an excellent opportunity to engage with our community and build strong links with learners at Lewisham College. We look forward to continuing working closely with the College to ensure that learners find out about the different career paths within the police."
Childcare learner, Ann-Marie Cassell, said: "The Freshers' Fair was a vibrant, informative event where I found out about the range of services and learning pathways available to support to me in my studies and to achieve my goals."
