Media students at Lewisham College created a new talk show at Ravensbourne University London. Learners on Lewisham College’s Diploma in Creative Media Production (Media Sports Journalism and Marketing) Level 3 course attended a TV studio workshop at Ravensbourne University London, as part of a partnership to collaborate on a talk show project.
The workshop enabled young people on the course to shadow undergraduate and postgraduate students, who were trainers for the workshop, teaching them how to use state-of-the-art TV cameras and equipment used in TV production. They also benefitted from working in the control room of the professional TV studio space.
Following the training, learners then prepared a pitch for their football Talk Show, including script development and planning the camera direction, which is set to feature learners from Lewisham College and Ravensbourne University’s students.
Jayne Morgan, Vice Principal of Lewisham College, said: “The workshop with Ravensbourne University London has provided our learners with fantastic training on how they can develop a pitch and create their own TV show, along with additional training in TV production management.
“The Creative Media programme is unique in the sector, with great opportunities for young people to benefit from our partnership with Ravensbourne and other organisations, such as Millwall Football Club. We are looking forward to welcoming the next cohort in September and building on these great collaborations in the future.”
