As part of the LGBTQ+ History Month celebrations, Lewisham College is proud to announce it has become a Stonewall College Champion.
Lewisham College, part of NCG Group, is committed to celebrating diversity by ensuring that our learners, staff, and stakeholders study and work in environments that embed equality, diversity, and inclusion principles and practices.
Gerard Garvey, Principal at Lewisham College, said: “At Lewisham College, we work day in and day out to provide an inclusive and respectful environment for our learners, colleagues and stakeholders. Being a Stonewall College Champion will play an important role in our efforts to deliver a respectful, open and safe learning experience for all.”
As a Stonewall College Champion, Lewisham College will continue to review and update its LGBTQ+ inclusion policies while striving to become national leaders in inclusive practices to make sure everyone at the College is free to be themselves, feel valued, respected and represented, and know they are supported to reach their potential regardless of their background or preferences. This includes lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer members of the College community.
Stonewall is a London-based organisation with over thirty years of experience working to give all children and young people access to an LGBTQ+ inclusive education.
