Lewisham College recently hosted an inspiring art exhibition titled ‘Anything But Ordinary,’ showcasing the incredible talents of our learners.

The exhibition featured a diverse collection of experimental 2D, 3D, and time-based artworks, including sculptures and masks, stop-motion films, tissue paper dresses, and many other unique creations.

The event took place across two rooms filled with fascinating works that captured the imagination of everyone who attended. Students, staff, and family members were invited to explore the vibrant array of artwork, each offering a glimpse into our learners' creative process and artistic vision.

Among the exhibitors was Alexandra Ognyanova, a learner studying the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Practice: Art, Design and Communication. Alexandra shared her experience: “My specialist practice this year is fine art, and I chose to explore the theme 'Unbound' through my artwork. I responded to this theme by creating a piece that features two hearts connected by thread, symbolizing the connections and bonds that can exist between individuals, even when they feel unbound or distant.”

The exhibition was a true celebration of creativity and innovation, offering a platform for students to present their work to the college community. The diverse range of artworks highlighted the depth of talent within our creative courses, and it was clear that our learners are pushing boundaries and exploring new ways of expressing themselves.

The 'Anything But Ordinary' exhibition was not just an event but a testament to our students' dedication, hard work, and creativity. We look forward to seeing even more amazing projects from them in the future.
